An easterly quarter airflow lies over the country today, cloudier in the east and sunnier in the west. There may be a few drizzle patches about in eastern regions mainly morning and night, there could also be an isolated shower or two late afternoon / evening about some western hills / ranges.

Northland
Sunny areas and some cloud, light winds in the morning then afternoon sea breezes. Low risk of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening.
Highs: 27-28

Auckland

Sunny areas and some cloud with easterly winds, showers out on the
Coromandel especially in the east and also about Great Barrier Island. There may
be a brief shower or two pass over the city later in the evening otherwise
dry.
Highs: 27-28

Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with easterly breezes, chance of a brief light shower or two
coming out of some cloud otherwise dry.
High: 26

Waikato & Central North Island

Sunny areas and some cloud with east to northeasterly breezes, cloud builds
PM then a few isolated showers are possible late afternoon / evening.
Highs: 27-29

Eastern North Island

Mostly cloudy with easterly breezes, some drizzle about mainly
morning.
Highs: 23-24

Taranaki

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon west to southwest
winds. About southern Taranaki winds may tend more southerly in the
afternoon.
Highs: 26-27

Western North Island

Easterly winds a little breezy at times, especially closer to the ranges.
More humid but dry and sunny.
Highs: 29-30

Wellington

Mainly dry and sunny however there is a chance of low cloud mainly about
the coast, easterly winds.
High: 26

Nelson

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning then afternoon
northeasterlies.
Highs: 25-26

Marlborough

Periods of cloud and sunny spells, easterly winds. There may be some
drizzle mainly morning.
High: 26

Canterbury

Periods of cloud with east to northeast breezes, some drizzle mainly
morning then again later in the evening.
Highs: 22-23

West Coast

Mostly sunny with light winds, in the afternoon some cloud builds
especially about the ranges. Late afternoon / evening a few isolated showers
area possible in the ranges.
Highs: 24-26

Coastal Otago

Mostly cloudy with east to northeast winds, some drizzle mainly morning and
evening.
High: 21

Central Otago

Sunny areas and some cloud with light winds, cloud builds from midday then
late afternoon isolated showers develop (more so in the west) possibly heavy
then easing overnight.
High: 26

Southland

Cloudy with southeasterly breezes, patchy drizzle possible from
evening.
High: 23
