A low pressure system lies over the North Island today with another down near the lower South Island, many regions will experience showers or drizzle and if no precipitation is near you then it’s likely it’ll be fairly cloudy.

Auckland & Northland
The odd shower about, dry spells too then clearing in the evening. Showers may get persistent for a time in the afternoon about eastern Northland. Sunny spells may break through from afternoon especially in the west, westerly winds.

Bay Of Plenty

Patchy light showers, light west to northwest winds. Eastern Bay Of Plenty
may get more persistent showers during the day.
High: 23

Waikato

Patchy showers or drizzle, clearing in the evening. Westerly winds.
Highs: 22-23

Central North Island

Patchy rain or drizzle with light east to northeast winds.
High: 19

Eastern North Island

Cloudy with patchy rain / drizzle, morning southerlies then tending
easterly by midday.
Highs: 16-17

Taranaki

Early cloud breaks to sunny spells, southeasterly winds. Light northerlies
develop in the afternoon with cloud starting to increase again, the odd isolated
shower possible late afternoon / evening inland.
High: 20

Western North Island

Early cloud breaks to sunny spells, southeasterly winds, cloud thickens
again late afternoon onwards.
High: 19

Wellington

Any early drizzle clears, mostly cloudy with southeasterlies.
High: 16

Nelson

Mostly cloudy with light winds tending northeast by midday.
High: 18

Marlborough

Any early drizzle clears, mostly cloudy with southeasterly winds easing
later in the day.
Highs: 16-17

Canterbury

Cloudy with morning drizzle clearing near the coast and becoming more
restricted to inland areas which then clear in the evening. Northeasterly
winds.
High: 14

West Coast

Cloudy with patchy showers / drizzle, mostly clearing around midnight
although the odd light shower may remain. Light northerlies.
Highs: 16-17

Coastal Otago

Mostly cloudy with northeasterlies building from morning, a few showers
from midday then clearing later in the evening.
High: 12-13

Central Otago

Mostly cloudy with light easterly quarter winds, the odd shower from late
morning then clearing in the evening.
High: 17

Southland

Sunny spells in the morning then cloud increases from midday and patchy
light rain develops late afternoon or evening more so inland. Easterly winds
change southerly around midnight.
High: 15
