A northwesterly airflow continues to lie over the South Island and lower North Island today, cloudy areas in the west with the odd drizzle patch, clearer skies out east with warm temperatures. Northeasterlies lie over the upper North Island with periods of cloud, the odd shower or drizzle patch about too.

Northland
Cloudy periods with northeasterly winds, a few isolated showers move through in the afternoon clearing later on.
Highs: 17-18

Auckland

A few morning sunny spells then cloudy areas increase towards midday,
chance of a late afternoon / evening light shower in most areas.
Highs: 17

Bay Of Plenty

Mostly cloudy with a few drizzle patches now and then, northeasterly
winds.
Highs: 15-16

Central North Island & Waikato

Morning low cloud or fog breaks to sunny spells, chance of a late afternoon
isolated shower otherwise dry. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-18

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-18

Taranaki

Sunny spells with north to northeasterly winds, chance of a brief shower
late afternoon otherwise dry. Cloud thickens from evening.
High: 16

Western North Island

Sunny spells and warm northwesterly winds, chance of a light shower late
afternoon / evening otherwise dry.
High: 19

Wellington

Sunny spells with breezy northerlies.
High: 14

Nelson

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, dry spells about too. Showers may become
a little more persistent overnight. Northerly winds.
High: 15

Marlborough

Mostly sunny with some cloud at times, breezy northwesterlies
High: 17

Canterbury

Mostly sunny, north to northwesterly winds break through to the coast by
midday. Northwesterlies may be gust at times for some inland areas and parts of
North Canterbury.

Cloudy spells with drizzle patches, overnight there may be some rain.
Northerly winds.

Coastal Otago

Sunny with light northeasterlies.

Central Otago

Southland

Sunny areas and some high cloud, thickening in the evening. Northerly
