A gentle southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, most places are dry and sunny although later in the evening a southwest change moves onto the lower South Island bringing a few showers. Showers also affect Auckland, Northland and possibly the Waikato.

Northland
Periods of cloud with occasional showers, especially in the west with long dry spells out east. Southwsterly winds.
Highs: 14-15

Auckland

Sunny spells with southwesterly winds, a few early showers mainly in the
west clearing then later in the evening the odd shower moves in again.
High: 14

Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with light southwesterlies.
High: 14

Waikato & Central North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds tending westerly or southwest. There is the
low risk of an afternoon shower or two about the Waikato.
Highs: 11-13

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light southwesterlies, there could be an early clearing shower
about Gisborne. Light SW winds easing away in the evening.
High: 13

Taranaki

Mostly sunny with light winds, southwesterlies freshen overnight with the
chance of a shower mainly in the south.
High: 13

Western North Island

Mostly sunny with light northwesterlies, evening cloud thickens.
High: 12

Wellington

Sunny with light winds.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds.
High: 13

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with light winds.
High: 11

West Coast

Sunny with light winds tending southwest, some evening cloud builds with
the chance of a late shower.
High: 12

Coastal Otago

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, southwesterly winds.
High: 10

Central Otago

Periods of cloud and the odd sunny spells, light westerlies. Overnight
winds change southwest with a few showers.
Highs: 5-7

Southland

Any early showers clear then expect periods of cloud with westerly winds,
westerlies freshen mid afternoon onwards then a late evening southwest change
brings showers.
High: 9
