A low pressure system centred west of the country with a weaker one out to the east combine to bring a mainly unsettled day across New Zealand.

Auckland & Northland
Showers, occasionally heavy with northwesterly winds. A few sunny spells about now and then also, mainly afternoon onwards.
Highs: 19-21

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Isolated showers, heavy in the afternoon with possible thunderstorms about the Waikato and western Bay Of Plenty. Occasional sunny spells too,
northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-18

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds and some high cloud, southerlies freshen
about Wairarapa mid to late afternoon with showers. A few showers move into
Hawkes Bay in the evening.
Highs: 19-21

Western North Island

Morning isolated showers easing and clearing, mid afternoon isolated
showers move in again. Showers may be heavy at times especially about Taranaki
and there could be occasional sunny spells. Northwesterlies.
Highs: 16-17

Wellington

Mostly sunny with northwesterlies easing in the morning, showers develop
mid afternoon with a southerly wind change.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson

Morning sunny areas with westerlies easing, the odd shower from afternoon
as winds tend southerly.
Highs: 16-17

Canterbury

Chance of a few early sunny spells, becoming mostly cloudy by late morning
with showers moving in during the afternoon. Southerly winds.
High: 14

West Coast

Morning rain eases to the odd shower and dry spells, easterlies. South of
Haast expect morning showers to clear then sunny spells develop with
southeasterlies freshening.
Highs: 14-16

Coastal Otago
Morning rain
eases to showers which clear late afternoon or evening. Breezy southeasterlies
ease later in the day.

High: 11

Central Otago

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower about, mainly in the east. Southeasterly
winds.
High: 12

Southland

Morning showers clear, skies remaining fairly cloudy although a few sunny
spells may break through from afternoon. Southeasterlies.
High: 11
