A southwesterly airflow lies over the country today with an anticyclone sitting west of New Zealand in the Tasman Sea. Generally mostly settled and sunny weather today, some areas will have cloud.

Auckland & Northland
Mainly sunny with some cloud at times, southerlies in the morning then winds tend southwest for the afternoon. Skies about Northland are expected to be clear during the day with southerly winds.
Highs: 21-22

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Mostly sunny with south to southwesterly winds easing in the evening. Winds
tend northerly in the afternoon about the Bay Of Plenty
Highs: 21-23

Eastern North Island

Periods of cloud in the morning, sunny spells increase after midday. Breezy
southwesterlies ease in the evening.
Highs: 19-21

Western North Island

Mostly sunny with southwesterly breezes, dying out during the evening.
Winds tend more southerly about Taranaki.
High: 20-21

Wellington

Sunny spells with breezy southerlies, easing in the evening.
Highs: 17

Nelson

Sunny with light winds tending northerly in the afternoon.
High: 20

Marlborough

Sunny with light winds tending easterly in the afternoon.
Highs: 19-20

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon south to
southwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-20

West Coast

Sunny with light winds tending westerly in the afternoon then easing again
in the evening.
Highs: 18-20

Coastal Otago

Mainly sunny with some cloud at times, breezy westerlies tend a little more
southwest in the afternoon then ease at night.
High: 17

Central Otago

Sunny with light winds tending southerly in the afternoon.
Highs: 21-23

Southland

Sunny spells and periods of cloud, westerly winds fresh at times in the
afternoon.
High: 16
