Fairly settled across some parts of the country tonight although a weak front moves north during the day mainly affecting eastern parts of the South Island bringing cloud and the odd light shower. Cloud and the odd light shower move onto eastern parts of the North Island overnight.

Auckland & Northland
Sunny spells with southwesterly winds, freshening up a little in the afternoon about Auckland then easing later in the evening. Winds tend southerly overnight.
Highs: 23-24

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Sunny spells with light winds in the morning tending westerly from midday.
Areas of cloud clear later in the evening with winds tending southerly. Winds
about the Bay Of Plenty tend northerly in the afternoon.
Highs: 23-25

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon easterly breezes.
In the evening southerlies freshen bringing some cloud. Overnight drizzle
possible.
Highs: 23-24

Western North Island

Sunny spells with morning northwesterlies then winds tending westerly in
the afternoon. In the evening winds change southerly.
Highs: 21-23

Wellington

Sunny spells with northerly winds, winds change southerly around midday and
freshen.
Highs: 19-20

Nelson

Mostly sunny with southwesterly winds, easing in the afternoon. A change to
southerlies in the evening.
High: 22

Marlborough

Mostly sunny with westerly breezes in the morning, winds change east to
southeast late afternoon bringing some cloud mainly near the coast.
Highs: 23-24

Canterbury

Foggy areas for some to start today with light winds, a southerly change late morning or
midday brings increasing cloud. Some evening drizzle possible especially inland
about the foothills then clearing overnight.
Highs: 19-21

West Coast

A few light morning showers about South Westland then clearing with sunny
weather developing in the afternoon, southerly winds. Further north about North
Westland expect morning cloud breaking to afternoon sunny spells, winds
gradually tending southerly.
High: 18

Coastal Otago

A few morning showers clear then sunny spells increase in the afternoon,
brisk southwesterly winds ease later in the evening.
Highs: 16-17

Central Otago

A few brief morning showers clear then becoming mostly sunny after midday,
southwesterly winds die out later in the evening.
High: 19

Southland

A few morning showers clear then sunny spells increase in the afternoon,
brisk west to southwest winds ease later in the evening.
High: 16
