Here’s what is making the weather headlines today….

RAINFALL OUTLOOK – NEXT SEVEN DAYS

The big shift to a west to south-west airflow over #NewZealand can be seen in this 7 Day Departure from Normal Rainfall map.

  • Low pressure in the Southern Ocean.
  • Windier Westerlies in the middle.

WINDIEST LOWER NORTH ISLAND

A west to southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, the lower North Island sees the windiest weather and far northern parts of the South Island like Tasman and the outer Marlborough Sounds.

WARM IN THE EAST TOMORROW

A westerly quarter airflow means eastern regions are going to warm up on Friday, temperatures in the mid teens are likely for Canterbury, late teens for Kaikoura and right up the east coast of the North Island.

Expect warm temperatures again over the weekend.

The far north and Bay Of Plenty will reach upwards of 17 to 18 degrees on Friday and over the weekend also.
