An offshore low near Gisborne will be driving in bigger waves and rips along eastern parts of the upper North Island but the bulk of the system is out at sea.
For the most part New Zealand is under high pressure, so this low won’t be reaching us, but it may help lift the south east wind flow a little in the north.
Apart from a few isolated showers, today is mostly dry.
Most of New Zealand is warmer than usual today.
