Northeasterlies lie over the upper North Island tonight while northwesterlies cover the rest of the country. For the North Island conditions are mainly dry for many but a few drizzle patches are about. The South Island sees drizzle in the west and dry weather out east.

Northland
A few showers clearing this evening then expect clear spells with northeasterly winds, there may be a few showers in eastern coastal areas by dawn
tomorrow.

Auckland

Clear spells with northeasterly winds, showers developing about Great
Barrier Island and parts of the Coromandel by dawn tomorrow.
Tonight’s Low: 12

Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy with the odd drizzle patch, some rain about East Cape overnight. Northeasterly winds
Tonight’s Low: 12

Central North Island & Waikato
Cloudy periods with the odd drizzle patch, clearing up overnight.
Drizzle less likely about the Waikato. Northeasterlies.

Eastern North Island

Cloudy areas with northeasterly winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 9-10

Taranaki

Periods of cloud with northeasterly winds, freshening a little
overnight.
Tonight’s Low: 10

Western North Island

Clear areas and some cloud, light winds.
Tonight’s Low: 7

Wellington

Periods of cloud with north to northwesterly winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Nelson

Cloudy spells with northerly winds, chance of a brief shower at times
otherwise dry.
Tonight’s Low: 9

Marlborough

Areas of high cloud clearing overnight, mainly dry with breezy
northwesterlies easing overnight. There may be a shower or two to the west in
the ranges however.
Tonight’s Low: 8

Canterbury

Mainly clear skies tonight, perhaps some high cloud about. Northwesterlies
ease a little overnight for inland areas, light winds near the coast.
Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

West Coast

Mostly cloudy, areas of rain or patchy drizzle about Hokitika northwards.
Further south expect only the occasional drizzle patch, around dawn tomorrow
rain moves into most areas. Northeasterly winds.

Coastal Otago

Mainly clear skies tonight, light winds.
Tonight’s Low: 7

Central Otago

High cloud develops overnight, north to northwesterly winds.
Tonight’s Low: 5-6

Southland

High cloud increases overnight, northerlies.
Tonight’s Lows: 8-9
