Periods of cloud with the odd shower, light winds. Overnight winds change southerly (strong west to southwest about Northland) bringing a period of showers, possibly heavy.

Bay Of Plenty
Some cloud with light winds, a southerly change overnight may bring a further period of shower, mainly in the west of the district.
Tonight’s Low: 4

Waikato & Central North Island

Periods of cloud with the odd shower, mainly clearing this evening.
Overnight about the Waikato especially in the north a further period of shower
moves through with a southerly change, showers may be heavy.
Tonight’s Lows: -1-2

Eastern North Island

Clear spells and some cloud, odd shower south of Napier clearing this
evening. Cool southwesterlies.
Tonight’s Lows: 0-2

Taranaki

Cloudy areas with the odd shower, westerly winds. There may be a further
period of shower overnight as winds change southerly, mainly for northern parts
of the region.
Tonight’s Lows: 1-3

Western North Island

Areas of cloud with the odd shower, some areas remaining dry. Any showers
clearing by midnight and cloud breaks up overnight. Light winds inland and
southwesterlies near the coast.
Tonight’s Lows: -1-0

Wellington

Mainly clear skies, there may be some high cloud overnight. Cold
southerlies.
Tonight’s Lows: 4-5

Marlborough & Nelson

Mainly clear skies although some high cloud developing this evening then
clearing away overnight. Ligth winds.
Tonight’s Lows: -2-0

Canterbury
Areas
of high cloud, clearing away overnight. Near the coast (mainly Banks Peninsula)
there may be a few showers about this evening then clearing overnight. Cold
southwesterlies with light winds inland.

High cloud clearing away overnight, light winds.

Coastal Otago

Cloudy areas with cold southwesterlies, the odd brief shower and light snow
flurry above 400m then lifting to 500m tonight.

Central Otago

Areas of cloud breaking away overnight, light winds.
Tonight’s Lows: -3 – -2

Southland

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, cold southwesterlies A few light snow
flurries above 500m.
Tonight’s Lows: 3-4

Bit more than light winds in the Far North tonight, very strong winds blowing.
