Unstable conditions clear this evening over the North Island, many other areas will also settle due to the influence of an anticyclone in the Tasman Sea nudging closer. Still, cloud may hang about for some while other areas skies will clear up and where skies do clear quite cold temperatures can be expected overnight.

Bay Of Islands

Isolated showers, some heavy clearing later this evening or around
midnight. Southwesterlies ease later tending southerly overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Auckland & Northland

Remaining showers clear this evening about Auckland, showers may not clear
Northland till around midnight. Mainly clear skies overnight. Southwesterly
winds ease this evening tending lighter southerly overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-13

Central North Island, Lake Taupo,
Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Showers, some heavy with thunderstorms and hail clearing this evening as
westerlies change southerly or southeast. Mainly clear skies developing
overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-10

Eastern North Island

Showers, some heavy ease this evening then clear about the Hawkes Bay and
Gisborne region. The Wairarapa is mainly dry with some cloud. Clear spells
develop overnight for most with south to southwesterly winds easing.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Western North Island

Any remaining showers clear this evening then clear spells increase,
southeasterly winds this evening becoming light overnight. Mainly clear skies
for Taranaki with southerlies easing there overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 7-10

Wellington

Clear spells and some cloud this evening, southerly breezes ease overnight
with skies becoming mainly clear.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Nelson & Kaiteriteri

Isolated showers, some heavy clearing this evening. Northerly winds ease
with skies becoming clear overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Marlborough

Areas of cloud, isolated showers inland some heavy may spread to the coast
for a brief time this evening. Showers then clearing for all by midnight. Light
winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Canterbury

Areas of cloud with southerlies easing overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

West Coast

Mainly clear skies overnight, a few isolated showers clearing this evening.
Light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-11

Coastal Otago

Mostly cloudy with west to southwest winds, low risk of the odd shower
otherwise mainly dry.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Central Otago

Areas of cloud, clear spells too. Southerly winds ease overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 7

Southland

Mostly cloudy with westerly winds, the odd shower.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-11
