High pressure over the Tasman Sea moves closer to the North Island encouraging milder nor’westers from Australia into the South Island. This will push temperatures several degrees above normal for this time of year, especially in the southern half of the South Island.
The burst of warm weather will come with western cloud and a few showers – turning to rain in the southern half of Westland and into Fiordland by Friday.
Dry elsewhere.
