Not a great deal of change today and Friday around NZ as winds become lighter for many and skies clear further in the east.
Showers linger today in the eastern North Island and also the southern coast of Wairarapa over to Wellington. Most other places are dry or mostly dry.
But it’s tonight and tomorrow night that may be more newsworthy with colder air sinking and frosts widespread across the country, potentially as far north as Auckland and Northland. Frosts will be heavy through the interior and higher elevations.
Windier weather this weekend will limit frosts – but next week clearer skies as high pressure moves in means more frosts and more cold nights coming. We’re in the depths of winter now.
