A warm Thursday over the country with all North Island centres in the low to mid 20s and the mainland ranged from the late teens to the low 20s.
Most of the country should see temperatures near average tonight and not too many should drop into single figures in the south.
Tomorrow cloud should gradually spread south over the North Island with winds starting to pick up and some rain likely in northern and central areas with the chance of a few heavy falls.
The top temperature today went to Kawerau with 26 and Invercargill, Darfield, Lyttleton and Milford Sound had the low of 17 degrees.
