Apart from Wellington, each centre in the North Island today was in the 20’s and Kawerau headed the list with 28 degrees.
The South Island was a different story with just 3 or 4 centres entering the low 20’s. Timaru and Oamaru felt the chill with nationwide lows today of 14 degrees.

Surprised to see Auckland Airport recorded a high of 26 today – usually it’s one of the cooler locations for daytime maxima across the greater Auckland region.
