Kawerau quite often comes out as the country’s max but TV One (dunno about TV3)do not show it on their chart, highlighting another town as the max like today being Levin. Kawerau is also not showen on the list here.
So maybe their readings are unofficial???
Where abouts was the low of Timaru recorded, airport or gardens?

Yeah I have no idea about Kawerau… it’s not on our list of temps but a note added at the end that mentions Kawerau (which does come from MetService).
