Temperatures not quite as high today but Napier and Kaikoura felt some warmth with a high of 24 degrees whereas the southerly made its presence felt with 13 degrees being the nationwide low which was recorded in a number of southern centres including Invercargill, Gore, Hokitika, Milford Sound and Murchison.
