The north and west of the country got most of the warmth today with some autumn sunshine.Elsewhere, cloudy spells with one or two showers were keeping a lid on the temperatures with southwest winds.
Friday night looks likely to be relatively cool with mostly dry conditions for 90% of the nation, with just a random shower possible in the remaining 10%.
Tomorrow as an anitcyclone edges closer, more sunshine nationwide is expected and the temperatures will hopefully rise a degree or 2. The far north may see a shower on Saturday.
Today the highest temperature was recorded in Kawerau with 25 degrees and the low was 14 in Darfield.
