A front clears the northeast of the North Island early in the morning otherwise a ridge of high pressure brings a mainly settled day to New Zealand. Another front is brewing in the Tasman Sea however.
For the most part expect sunny spells across much of the North Island on Tuesday, light to moderate winds from the southwest. Just a few early clearing showers for the likes of Gisborne, Coromandel, eastern parts of Northland / Auckland if the front is a little slow in moving along.
The South Island starts off a little cool but is otherwise in good form, the front mentioned above in the Tasman does send out a sheet of high cloud however. Also a few showers or some rain does affect Fiordland from afternoon.
