Temps dive in south

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A frosty morning has greeted many mainlanders with temperatures dropping below freezing.

Christchurch, Timaru and Oamaru are on minus 3 degrees while Queenstown and Dunedin aren’t faring much better with minus 2. Nelson is the mildest centre in the South island with 5 degrees.

Some high cloud with a few spots of rain are possible over Otago and Southland today with Westland and Fiordland likely to bear the brunt of the rain.
