Warmer than average for most spots on Wednesday, for the South Island this is more true about inland areas. About the coast conditions to start with are hampered by some morning cloud but once that breaks onshore winds keep a slight lid on conditions warming up too much.
Temperatures in the high teens for most, cracking into the twenties for Auckland and Northland. Just coastal Southland / Otago stays in the mid teens.
A bit cooler than average for some parts of the South Island on Wednesday night due to mainly clear skies, some coastal parts especially in the east see some cloud cover however. Frost are probably not likely but temperatures may get down to between 2 and 1 degrees about some parts of the Main Divide.
Warmer than average for some North Island areas, lows staying above double figures for most.
