A northerly airflow streaming over New Zealand brings warmer than average temperatures to New Zealand today. This will feel more true about the eastern South Island and southwestern corner of the North Island. But generally speaking most (not all, most) regions get into the high teens, parts of Canterbury may reach into the early twenties.
Average to cooler than average overnight lows for the North Island tonight due to a ridge of high pressure. Some inland parts of Bay Of Plenty / the ranges behind Hawkes Bay / Gisborne may get down to 6 or 4 degrees. The South Island sees average to warmer than average overnight lows.
