A westerly airflow spinning out of an anticyclone in the Tasman Sea brings warmer than average temperatures to most of New Zealand today, especially in the east. Waikato northwards experiences average temperatures for the time of year.
Average to cooler than average overnight lows for most parts of the country tonight, the far south once again a little warmer than average due to a northwest airflow.
