Average to above average highs for most of New Zealand today, the North Island attracts the warmest day time highs with Kaitaia and Auckland reaching 19 to 18 degrees respectively. Southland and Otago see the coolest day times highs today sitting around 11 to 13 degrees.

Expect frosty conditions overnight for most of the South Island especially inland areas, getting down to between 0 and -1. Some coastal fringe spots will be a tad warmer between 0 and 4 degrees. Canterbury with cloud cover may only dip down to 5 to 6 degrees on the plains. The North Island sees overnight lows dipping down to 3 to 5 degrees about most inland spots, 6 to 10 degrees about areas closer to the coast.
