A warmer than average day for New Zealand today due to a northerly quarter airflow. The east coast of the South Island may see temperatures into the high teens. Auckland and Northland being further north see warm 18 to 19 degree highs naturally.
Average to warmer than average for most of the North Island tonight. The South Island is not overly cold but signs of a cool down are starting especially about the far south as a southerly change moves in overnight bringing in some cold air. Thursday will see these cold temperatures spread northwards over the South Island although the West Coast may actually see a bump in afternoon highs due to a southeasterly airflow.
