A southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand tonight, southern and western parts of the country see some cloud or showers and this prevents temperatures getting overly cold. The eastern side of the country Canterbury northwards will feel a bit more chilly than normal with clear skies likely and light winds. Gisborne and just in behind that area sees quite cold overnight lows getting down to 2 or 3 degrees. The Mackenzie Country about inland South Canterbury sees the coldest temperatures getting down to 0 or -1.
Auckland is the warmest getting down to 11 degrees.
Tomorrow will feel mostly average temperature wise for many, highs in the mid teens for most although a bit cool for Southland and Otago ranging between 10 to 13 degrees. My place to be would be somewhere about the Mackenzie Country or over into South Westland where skies should be sunny and winds light in the afternoon, highs still in the mid teens but the combination mentioned should make for a great day.
