Northwesterlies keep temperatures warm for most of the country tonight especially in the east, some slight ridging brings average overnight lows to the upper North Island. Tonight’s warmest overnight lows will be somewhere between Canterbury and Wellington, Kaikoura may pip everyone as northwesterlies look reasonably consistent in this area.
Tonight’s coldest overnight lows will be about Central Otago, Mackenzie Country, Central North Island and Waikato ranging between 5 to 7 degrees.
A northwest airflow continues tomorrow, and so do warm temperatures for many regions especially the eastern South Island. Wednesday’s top temperature will likely be about Canterbury getting into the mid twenties. The coolest high’s will likely be about coastal Southland / Catlins, the West Coast and Wellington getting into the mid teens.
