Temperature Trends: Overnight Wednesday and daytime Thursday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Average to cooler than average temperatures again for New Zealand tonight as we are stuck in a light west to southwesterly airflow moving around a large high in the Tasman Sea. Cloud cover and a few showers keep temperatures from dropping too low about eastern Bay Of Plenty, meanwhile the airflow tends westerly about the far south ahead of a weakening incoming front providing a slight perk and mitigating overnight lows from getting too cold.

Tomorrow sees temperatures starting to come to life a little, still avearge to cooler than average for most but not too bad. Northland will see the warmest day time highs meanwhile coastal Southland / Otago is the coolest. Central Otago is not far behind Northland with day time highs reaching 21 degrees for the likes of Alexandra.
