Cold air and clearing skies brings cold overnight temperatures to a fair few tonight. While the map below does show where temperatures are colder than normal and overnight figures themselves for some centres the following map shows where temperatures are likely to dip below 0 overnight.
This map below you can view here. Colour shaded areas show where temperatures dip below 0 degrees.
A northeasterly airflow covers the country tomorrow, eastern regions even the coastal fringes of the South Island’s east coast will be a bit chilly as easterlies are looking to be fresh. The inner, southern and western South Island get a cracker day with light winds after any morning cloud clears (morning cloud mainly in the west). Some cloud builds about inland / hills ranges in the afternoon and there may be a few isolated showers late afternoon / evening about the Main Divide between Canterbury and the West Coast.
Tomorrow’s top temperatures will be shared by Central Otago and Northland getting into the high teens.
