Warmer than normal for most regions around New Zealand this afternoon with settled conditions developing as an anticyclone pushes in from the Tasman Sea. Highs in the late teens or early twenties for most, sticking in the mid teens for Southland / Otago and the West Coast.
The anticyclone mentioned above brings cool overnight lows due to clear skies likely in many regions. No frosts are likely but temperatures getting into the low single figure range are possible about inland parts of the upper South Island. A developing northwesterly airflow for Southland brings slightly milder than average overnight temperatures.
