A northwest airflow brings warm temperatures again to eastern parts of the country today, cool southwesterlies will spread through Canterbury this afternoon however bringing a cool down. The warmest temperatures today will likely be Canterbury right up to Gisborne in the east with highs between 20 to 23 degrees. Northland and Auckland also crack the early 20’s also.
Average to warm temperatures for most of the North Island tonight, especially warm in the east as a northwest airflow continues overnight before southerly quarter winds push northwards tomorrow morning. The South Island has average overnight lows for most, perhaps a touch cool about some inland spots. The warmest overnight lows tonight will be 15 degrees for Auckland and Tauranga, the coolest about Central Otago with 3 to 6 degrees.
