Easing southerly winds bring chilly temperatures to the eastern South Island today, average to cooler then average for the eastern North Island. Western parts of the country are average to above average for the time of year temperature wise. The warmest highs are about Northland / Auckland on 16 to 17 degrees, the coolest about Central Otago on 7.
Colder than average overnight lows for eastern parts of the country tonight, a touch warmer in the west especially the South Island’s West Coast.
