The easterly quarter airflow lying over New Zealand today leads to another day with warmer than average temperatures for western regions. The warmest highs will be about Northland up around 18 to 19 degrees but the nicest weather will likely be about southwestern parts of both Islands. The coolest day time temperatures will be about Central Otago on 7 to 8 degrees.
Cold overnight lows for the South Island tonight, getting frosty about Central Otago by dawn on Wednesday. Also look for areas of fog about inland South Island areas forming overnight. Average to warmer than average overnight lows for most of the North Island.
