Temperatures will drop again tonight with many regions below normal for the time of year as shown in the map below.
The map below shows areas more specifically that drop below 0 degrees, for the South Island in the east expect areas below 0 closer to the coast however (i.e. most of the Canterbury Plains can expect frosts). Also temperatures touching 0 could be expected for a wider portion of the eastern North Island. Even southern rural Auckland could near a frost again but lows may only get to 2 or 1 degrees at their lowest.
Areas of cloud for some western spots of both Islands should keep temperatures from dropping too low.
A west to northwesterly airflow lies over the country on Saturday, highs will be a bit above average for the eastern side of New Zealand, also western parts of the South Island. Normal highs for the time of year expected about the western North Island.
The top day time highs will likely be about Hawkes Bay / Gisborne and Auckland / Northland around 15 to 16 degrees.
