A generally disturbed airmass over New Zealand tonight leads to no frosts being likely, this is very much the case for the North Island. If one searches about inland parts of South Canterbury in the Mackenzie Country you might find overnight lows around 0 in a sheltered spot or two.
The warmest overnight low goes to Kaitaia on 13, the coldest as mentioned above about the Mackenzie Country perhaps getting to 0 degrees.
Warmer than average for most regions around New Zealand tomorrow, Auckland and Northland get into the high teens. Hawkes Bay may even crack 20 degrees. The coolest spot will be coastal Otago on 13 due to cloud cover and easterlies.
Since the weather isn’t really playing ball in terms of sunny clear skies and calm conditions for any region my place to be is Taranaki where thunderstorms look like moving in early afternoon. Might as well face the music and enjoy a storm, have a good one!
