Today’s temperatures are likely to be average to warmer than average for the time of year, but overall not as warm as it was yesterday. For the likes of Canterbury and Hawkes Bay / Gisborne it will be a fair bit cooler than it has been lately.
Average overnight lows for most however a bit cool about southwestern parts of both Islands. Southland and Central Otago in particular will likely see a light frost by Wednesday morning. The warmest overnight low will be about Kaitaia getting down to 14 degrees.
