This weekend is a fairly mild one compared to the Antarctic change coming next week.
Saturday sees heavy rain around parts of the North Island while Wellington should improve for the rugby final in the evening.
Sunday is a bit windy with rain on the West Coast but dry for many other regions – but next Monday begins a cold change which could see snow flurries to sea level in parts of the South Island by Tuesday or Wednesday.
