Why waste words when we can some up the weather over the next couple of days for these main centres using just one – “Sunny“.
- Auckland
- Hamilton
- Tauranga
- Rotorua
- Taupo
- New Plymouth
- Wanganui
- Palmerston North
- Wellington
- Nelson
- Blenheim
- Christchurch
- Timaru
- Dunedin
Ok so we need a few more words for these areas…”Sunny and cloudy periods“
- Whangarei (could be a light shower today)
- Gisborne (could be a light shower today).
- Napier
- Masterton
- Invercargill
- Westport
A simple forecast thanks to a very large high.

Barometric pressure peaked on my trusty aneroid at 30.46 inches of mercury = 1031.5 hPa. Had hoped to make 1040. But still it is the highest I have recorded in Motueka over the 5 years I have been here.
A local private weather station (http://www.warren.co.nz/weather) had a max of 1034 hPa at 12:30 am this morning.
Does anyone know what the highest pressure ever recorded in NZ was?

Answered my own question:According to the Met Service – the highest pressure over land recorded in New Zealand was 1046hp, in the late 1800s.
