Sunday is a mild day across New Zealand but it’s not perfectly settled with some rain and wind about. The warmer weather is ahead of a cold change tomorrow and Tuesday spreading in nationwide – so make the most of today!
NORTH ISLAND:
Mild with NW winds, out of the sub-tropics for some northern areas. Warmest weather will be the very north, north east. Mainly Sunny but some cloudy areas in the west with a few showers developing. Rain moves in from the north overnight. NW winds become strong to gale through Cook Strait.
Highs: 14 to 23 (coolest in Taupo)
SOUTH ISLAND:
Most regions have W to NW winds blowing but there may be a few very localised exceptions. Winds are strongest in the upper island and around Cook Strait. Rain on the West Coast with some heavy falls slowly moves northwards today. Some high cloud will spillover to the east. A warmer than average day for many – ahead of a colder Monday coming.
Highs: 13 to 22 (warmest in Canterbury, Nelson and Marlborough)
