Sunday’s national forecast – Low pressure moves closer (+5 Maps)

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Clouds thicken today, winds pick up and rain and showers develop as a large low in the Tasman Sea moves closer.

As the day wears on the winds will become blustery in exposed areas, mainly northerly quarter winds around the country. Gales are possible in some exposed places.

NZ will be warmer than average in every region today.

There might be an isolated thunderstorm in the Far North or Northland and possibly (low risk) one elsewhere in the upper North Island.
