Sunday’s national forecast – high pressure dominates

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A large high is crossing New Zealand at the moment with Sunday dry across 99% of the country, with perhaps a remaining isolated coastal shower or drizzle patch first thing around East Cape.

Winds will be light in most places with sea and lake breezes but an E to SE winds may still be blowing around Auckland, Northland, Coromandel Peninsula and East Cape. Westerlies may also start to build today around Stewart Island and coastal Southland.

Cloudy areas for some regions today too.

Highs: 17 in the some coastal southern areas up to 28 for inland areas like Waikato. Most places early to mid 20s.
