A large area of high pressure continues to spread east out of Australia and is crossing over the South Island and lower North Island while easterlies blow across the upper North Island bringing cloudy spells and isolated showers.
Much of the South Island leans milder than average today – but cooler than normal tonight. Central and western parts of the North Island will be similar.
