Upper North Island

South to southwesterly winds, perhaps brisk at
times during the afternoon. Sunny spells and some cloud, there may be a few isolated afternoon showers.

Lower North Island

Breezy south to southeasterly winds along the east coast and about Wellington bring cloudy skies with patchy rain or drizzle. Sunny spells in the west with brisk southeasterly
winds, the odd brief shower may spread from the east at times, Taranaki stays
dry with sunny skies.

Upper South Island

Mainly sunny skies in the west and about Nelson with light winds, afternoon sea breezes for coastal areas.
About the northwest Nelson ranges there is the risk of a few afternoon isolated
showers. About coastal Marlborough through to Canterbury expect fairly cloudy
skies with southerlies, areas of drizzle at times with some rain about the
Kaikoura area. Sunny spells away from the coast for Marlborough.

Lower South Island

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells about coastal Otago,
easterly breezes. Mostly sunny elsewhere with light winds.
