Upper North Island

Cloud increases this morning with northwesterly
winds, rain develops early to mid afternoon. Winds change southwest late afternoon with rain easing to showers then clearing in the evening.

Lower North Island

Rain with northwesterly winds, easing to showers in the
afternoon with westerly change then clearing in the evening. High cloud on the
east coast with northwesterly winds, morning spots of rain pass through
Wairarapa then in the afternoon and evening for Hawkes Bay and
Gisborne.

Upper South Island

Rain on the West Coast easing to
showers this afternoon with northwesterlies changing westerly, rain about Nelson
clears early afternoon with a westerly change then sunny areas increase. About
Marlborough expect a few spots of morning rain then clearing to a mostly sunny
afternoon with westerly winds. Canterbury sees some morning high cloud about
North Canterbury, a risk of a few spots of rain this morning then clearing to a
mostly sunny afternoon with northwesterlies. About South and Mid Canterbury
expect mostly sunny weather this morning, westerlies freshen from late morning
bringing some cloud and the low risk of a shower.

Lower South Island

Early rain on the West Coast eases to showers, westerly winds. A
few spells of early rain pass through Southland and Otago with northerlies
changing westerly, in the afternoon westerlies freshen bringing further showers
which clear in the evening although a few remain about Southland.
