Upper North Island

Morning rain eases about Northland through to Waikato to the odd shower, long dry spells this afternoon with a sunny break now and then. Northerly winds. Late afternoon and evening isolated showers may produce a heavy shower or two. Rain about Bay Of Plenty with heavy falls then easing in the afternoon, rain may not ease off about eastern Bay Of Plenty till late afternoon or evening, northeasterly winds. Rain for the Central North Island, possibly heavy in the north then easing after midday. Northeastely winds.

Lower North Island

Cloudy along the east coast with periods of rain or drizzle, northeasterlies. Rain about Taranaki eases off by midday to showers, easterlies. Showers for other parts of the lower North Island including Wellington with east to southeast breezes.

Upper South Island

Cloudy skies with east to southeast breezes, areas of rain or
drizzle. About Buller conditions may be dry in the morning however areas of rain
move in from the north mid to late afternoon.

Lower South Island

Cloudy about coastal Otago with drizzle or patchy rain north of
about Dunedin, east to northeast winds. Mostly sunny for Central Otago and
Southland with east to northeast breezes, in the afternoon isolated showers
develop (especially in the west of both regions) becoming heavy with
thunderstorms for some then clearing later in the evening. Areas of cloud with
with sea breezes developing on the West Coast, isolated showers possible in the
afternoon especially in the ranges then clearing later in the evening.
