Upper North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds, afternoon sea
breezes with some cloud developing after midday. Isolated showers for some
inland areas mid afternoon onwards, showers could be heavy with thunderstorms
especially about the Waikato, Bay Of Plenty and Central North Island. Showers
easing later in the evening and clearing around midnight.

Lower North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds and afternoon sea breezes,
northerlies about Wellington. Isolated showers develop in the afternoon about
the Hawkes Bay and Gisborne ranges, some heavy with thunderstorms then clearing
before midnight.

Upper South Island

Mostly sunny in the east and
north with light winds, afternoon sea breezes. Isolated showers develop inland
during the afternoon between South Canterbury in the east through to
Marlborough, showers could be heavy with thunderstorms then clearing later in
the evening. The odd light shower on the West Coast with northwesterlies, cloudy and sunny spells
for Buller with westerlies.

Lower South Island

Mostly cloudy with
showers moving into Otago this morning, westerlies inland and east to northeast
winds near the coast. Showers clear at night. Cloudy spells about Southland with
west to southwest breezes, mainly dry although there could be a shower or two
inland and in the east. Rain about Fiordland (especially in the north) with
northerlies.
