Upper North Island

West to southwest breezes with cloudy spells and the odd sunny break, a few brief showers at times also about and north of Auckland especially in the evening. About the Bay Of Plenty conditions are likely to be mostly sunny during the day with westerly winds.

Lower North Island

Cloudy spells and some sun in the west with westerly breezes, risk of a brief shower now and then also. Sunny on the east coast with light winds and afternoon sea breezes, there may be an isolated shower in the ranges of Hawkes Bay and Gisborne late afternoon and evening. Wellington can expect mostly sunny weather with northerlies tending southerly by midday, cloud may be more frequent when southerlies move on through.

Upper South Island

Sunny spells and some cloud about the upper South Island with light winds, afternoon sea breezes. Cloudy spells about Canterbury with northeasterlies, brisk in the afternoon along the coast. There may be an isolated afternoon shower about the Nelson Lakes Region.

Lower South Island

Cloudy spells about coastal Otago with northeasterlies freshening in the afternoon, sunny elsewhere with high cloud and west to northwest winds. On the West Coast south of Hokitika expect cloudy spells and the odd light shower or drizzle patch, winds from the northwest.
