Due to hot air flowing around high pressure for a while, temperatures will be higher than normal, especially quite higher during daytime.
Drought – Judging from the temperature & precipitation trends there is a possibility that a drought will increase – especially over the North Island widely in the coming week or two.

Thanks for the map.
I find it very counterintuitive having one bar of blue for minimum rainfall, and also blue for maximum rainfall. Logically I can comprehend it, but it’s not at all intuitive or easy to read.
Could you please change it? Perhaps a deeper shade of green?

Hi Nick, thanks for the feedback and to be honest I tend to agree with you. The issue is that these specific maps are made by IBM for global usage and they use the same key worldwide. The data is very accurate but the key is out of our control. We’re soon launching some new maps which we will have control over keys etc, so hopefully we can have a cleaner look. Will also feed this back to the IBM team, you never know they may be able to tweak it 🙂
