Sunday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A very weak front is clipping eastern parts of the country this morning however only drizzly patches or light showers are likely to be contained within it.

What seems more obvious is that there’ll cloud associated with it and a drop in temperature is likely out east as yet another lack-lustre front sweeps over us.

Isolated showers could pop up over inland areas across both islands with one or two heavy falls today however much of the country is looking dry with considerable sunshine and a few cumulus clouds.

Temperatures will be cooler over eastern areas but milder across central and western districts, away from the southerly breeze.

Sunniest centre – Nelson

Windiest place- Wairarapa coast

Coolest temperature – Banks Peninsula with a south to sou’ west wind.

Wettest area – Risk of showers over Banks Peninsula
